She explained and demonstrated ways to solve many problems like horses who want to shoulder in a barrel, go past a barrel, and much more. She goes over in details how she works the barrel pattern to create consistency and quickness on any level of horses from young horses to ones that she is trying to solve problems on.

Tricia Aldridge goes over what she likes to do when buying a new horse or getting a new horse in training before even starting to ride them. She wants them to feel the best to maximize the efficiency of her training.

 

Video 2: How to get the Perfect Approach to the 1st Barrel and How to Fix a Horse that Shoulders in the Barrel (13:51)

In this video, she explains what she likes her horses to be able to do before taking them to the 1st barrel. Then, she explains how she likes to work a first barrel at home for them to be perfect in a run. Finally, she explains what she does if a horse want to shoulder in a barrel to fix the problem. There are so many good tricks in this video that are good for much more than just the 1st barrel!

Tricia goes over how she likes to work horses on the pattern everyday. She talks about her goals with these horses, why and how she always wants them to keep their feet moving. She explains where and how she wants them to be to be able to have the greatest run possible.

Tricia is on a horse that is very head strong and wants to go too fast to the first barrel. She explains really well how to get her to relax around the barrel so she doesn’t get flat, keeps her position and work great around the first barrel. She is very meticulous about having the exact same pattern every time to create consistency and be as fast as possible. She explains how she wants the horse’s body position and her body position’s to be.

In this video, she goes through a typical everyday workout from when she gets on to when she gets off of them. She, also, explains how she likes her horses to turn the barrels: from their body position to the spots she wants them to be at.

This video has a bunch of different amazing tips. She talks a lot about what to do and not to do when a horse wants to shoulder in the barrels. She talks about how to get them to be constant and to condition them to do the same in a run even if the jockey does a mistake, and talks about how important it is to pick your battles and work one thing at a time.

Tricia gives more great tips to get your horses consistent and closer to having perfect runs. From knowing when to use the outside rein, to teaching horses straight lines, and to your body position. Everything is done to achieve consistency and to be able to trust your horse.

This video is all about showing how she likes horses to be when they’ve always been in her program. She shows how she likes a 3 years old to be broke before putting him on the barrel. Then, she rides “Three Times the Fury” and shows what a typical workout is for her. She also explains good tricks on “Sway” on how to keep a horse from finishing a barrel too quick.

Tricia Aldridge talked to us about her favorite everyday bit, and other bits she likes and when she uses them. She shows her favorite draw reins, split reins and barrel reins. She points out how she likes to have her curb chains. Lastly, she talks about the importance of trying new bits to always be ready for any needed changes
